Indie but varied, live is best!

This is going to sound like a bit of a ramble...I suppose because I don't really know what to tell you, but here goes... I write and read and love art and I guess these days I'd rather go out for a meal and see something at the cinema or theatre than go to pubs and clubs. I adore live music - any music really, but live is best. I've recently bought the Ben Howard album...so smoochy...shame I've no one to smooch! I'm happiest mucking about in the outdoors and love weekends away, whether it is in a tent or a hotel makes no difference to me. I own a horse and it's probably my main interest but I'm open minded about trying new things. I'm pretty independent so it's likely my Mr Right would have plenty of his own interests too! Hopefully we'd share some. Whilst I want to make a good life for myself and my child, I'm not driven by materialistic goals and tend to be turned off by people who are. I have a job that can be both interesting and demanding, but I'm more than capable of forgetting where I parked my car... And I might be starting a PhD soon, the decision is in the wings! Life is busy, but I've genuine reasons for being on a site like this. I selected 'long-term' to reflect this, in that I hope I meet someone to build and share a life with, but equally I'm not looking to rush into anything. I am loyal, down-to-earth and straight-forward and I'm drawn to people with integrity and a passion for something, even if it is just the way they look at life. I'm open to new things and love to laugh so a sense of humour in a partner is a must. Things I don't like...very vain people, arrogance, food that is unnaturally chewy....! I can't even begin to get my head around eating octupus... Above all, I don't take life too seriously, enjoy a bit of banter and I'm ace at talking nonsense!! I'm looking for someone who reads this taster and sees the faintest glimpse of a kindred spirit, who thinks that my kind of nonsense might be just his kind of nonsense and who is ready to assemble his warmest smile, his sharpest wit and plot some further nonsense with me...
